See Me Now or I’ll See You Later is an awareness series created by motivational speaker and former Hudson County detective Calvin E. Hart. Detective Hart speaks to groups of youth and adults on a number of topics including gangs, violence, goal-setting, self-esteem, peer pressure, and substance abuse. “As a police officer working in the narcotics unit, I found it disturbing how often youth were involved in crimes. With my series, I hope that I can reach young folks now so that I won’t have to see them later at the police station,” said Hart to explain the name of his series. Detective Hart was born and raised in Jersey City and has dedicated his life to public service in his community. He is a navy veteran and has held various positions with the Jersey City Police, Jersey City Housing Authority and the Urban League of Hudson County. Most recently, he was elected as the President of the NAACP.
